2017 PW Awards: Best Mic Worker

Winner: The Miz

“What a year for the Miz. I was extremely impressed with his work this year, both in the ring and on the mic. I think he has gone from the most overrated superstar on the roster to the most underrated superstar on the roster. Not many people have been able to stand toe to toe with Cena on the mic (remember when the Rock wrote his notes on his hand?) and yet, the Miz was able to not embarrass himself when jawing with Cena. Then when he had the Shield reuniting, his promos here were flawless as well. I think more people need to recognize the improvements that he has made… hopefully the WWE rewards him with a WWE Title run again in the near future.” – Chris Langevin

“You can hear the venom in the voice of this man when he speaks into the microphone. He understands just how to turn the crowd back against him after they show their appreciation and most importantly he’s been instrumental in helping babyface talents get cheers which can be extremely tough on WWE programming. He also understands how to underwhelm with his in-ring work, the true mark of a great heel. The Miz has been on fire over these past couple of years and it all comes from maturity and hard work. It’s been a joy to watch him perfect his craft.”  – Dave Reno

“The Miz saved me from grabbing my remote a lot of nights. Special nod to Maryse too. She was awesome all year. Miz may have been a heel, but his scathing promos reflected a lot of what fans felt about his opponents this year.” – Shannon Willis

Runner Up: Paul Heyman

“The true ‘Beast Master’ continues to be must listen TV every single time he spits on the WWE microphone. That will never change.” – DR

Third Place: Kevin Owens

“Fearless.” – Frank Anguiano

“He’s just a natural out there and it shows. The epitome of the “cool” wrestling bad guy that makes WWE fun.” – DR

Honorable Mentions: Alexa Bliss, Trent Seven, Kenny Omega, Chris Jericho, Samoa Joe, Zack Gibson
