  • The show starts with a recap of the history between Akira Tozawa and Hideo Itami.

Drew Gulak says the journey of a thousand mile begins with one step. Tonight, they take one step forward when he defeats another member of the Lucha House Party. When he has permanently grounded every high flyer cruiserweight of the 205 Live roster, he will have proven that wrestler can flip and dive; but if they step to him, they will tap out.

Jack Gallagher and The Brian Kendrick join the announce team for the Drew Gulak vs. Gran Metalik match.

  • Vignette for Buddy Murphy. He says Cedric Alexander doesn’t train harder than him. Nobody does. Next week he will beat Cedric Alexander to become the new Cruiserweight Champion because you can’t stop the unstoppable.

TJP def. Christopher Guy via pinfall.

After the match, Dash interviews TJP. She asks him about his comments on social media. He says he wasn’t just the first Cruiserweight Champion, he was the best Cruiserweight Champion. He’s also the best technical wrestler in the world. More importantly, he singlehandedly revived cruiserweight wrestling and he carried the division on his back. If that’s the competition GM thinks he deserves, it’s crystal clear what management thinks of him.

Earlier today Vic Joseph sat down for an interview with Cedric Alexander. Joseph asks him about how he deals with the pressure of being champion. Alexander says he takes it one day at the time. Pressure is nothing now. It’s just another day at the office. Joseph asks if he can really say that, when his friends and family are going to be in the crowd. Alexander says yes. His friends and family are going to be there. He’s going to have their support and there’s no way he can fail in front of them. Joseph reminds him of Buddy Murphy’s size. Alexander says everyone forgets he also had to cut weight to make it on 205 Live’s roster. There’s a reason why he’s champion. He’s well rounded. Next week he’ll remind Murphy this is the “Age of Alexander”.

  • Dasha interviews Akira Tozawa backstage. She asks him about his mindset going into the match. He says Hideo is a legend. Tozawa always respected him.  Hideo never respected him. If Hideo didn’t like him as a tag team partner, he won’t like him as an opponent.
