Asuka to challenge for Smackdown Women’s Championship at ‘Money in the Bank’

After losing the match of her WWE career to Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 34 last month, Asuka will get another crack at WWE gold next month against Carmella at Money in the Bank.

Smackdown Live GM Paige would interrupt today’s Royal Mellabration in London to announce the match.

Carmella made a clean title defense against Charlotte at Backlash earlier this month in New Jersey, defeating the former champ in just nine minutes flat. If she can beat a competitor in Asuka, who holds the WWE record for the longest undefeated streak at 914 days, she’ll solidify herself as one of the top stars in WWE today.

Also on the card, Nia Jax will be defending her RAW Women’s Championship against Ronda Rousey in a match that was announced yesterday morning in New York.
