Changes made to Wrestle Kingdom 12 card

Published

Just before the final show of 2017 for New Japan (you can read the full recap here) Naoki Sugabayashi announced two changes to New Japan’s Tokyo Dome show at a press conference in Korakuen.

NJPW’s Chairman revealed that the IWGP United States Championship match between Kenny Omega and Chris Jericho will carry a no disqualification stipulation. Here’s how the champion reacted to the news on social media.

The other change was to what was originally scheduled to be a Ring of Honor World Championship match between Cody and Kota Ibushi. The match has been changed to a singles match between the two competitors due to Cody losing his championship to Dalton Castle at Ring of Honor’s Final Battle pay-per-view last week. Brandi Rhodes will be in Cody’s corner for the match.

Also of note, a NEVER Openweight Championship match between current champion and Suzuki-gun leader, Minoru Suzuki, and Hirooki Goto was added to the card during today’s Road to Tokyo Dome show. A Hair versus Hair stipulation has been confirmed for that match.

Here’s a look at the full card for Wrestle Kingdom 12 as it stands tonight:
