Chris Jericho busts Kenny Omega open at ‘World Tag League’ Final

Chris Jericho appeared inside of a non-WWE ring for the first time in nearly two decades overnight to make a major statement ahead of his Wrestle Kingdom 12 match with Kenny Omega on January 4th.

After Omega was able to score a victory for Team ‘The Elite’ in a six-man tag team match, the Fukuoka Convention Center would go dark and a vignette would play on the big screen featuring none other than Y2J, who would deliver a verbal statement to Omega about what he would do to him in Tokyo next month. After the vignette closed, the lights came back on and suddenly, Jericho, in the flesh, completely unbeknownst to Omega, would appear inside of the New Japan ring.

Jericho would proceed to obliterate Omega, busting his fellow Manitoban open at one point with vicious shots to the head with the aid of Omega’s IWGP US Heavyweight Championship belt. He’d even wipe the blood of Omega onto his own face during this vicious assault. Don Callis, a friend of Omega and NJPWWorld English announcer, would attempt to talk some sense into Jericho at one point. He’d end up getting laid out with a Codebreaker resulting in a ride to the back on a stretcher for his efforts.

Jericho would eventually retreat after The Young Bucks came to rescue their friend from further damage.

Omega will look to exact revenge on Jericho at Wrestle Kingdom 12 live on NJPWWorld on January 4th in Tokyo. The match will be part of a double main event alongside the IWGP Heavyweight Championship match between Kazuchika Okada and Tetsuya Naito.
