Enjoyed Wrestle Kingdom 12 this week? Give DDT Universe a try

New Japan Pro-Wrestling isn’t the only Japanese-based wrestling company with a streaming service. Welcome to DDT Universe. For those with at least a little bit of knowledge, DDT is where you’ve seen Kota Ibushi and Sami Zayn wrestle in a park, Kenny Omega wrestling blow up dolls and Joey Ryan flip people with his dick. DDT is all of this and much, much more.

DDT got their start in 1997 when founded by Sanshiro Takagi and Shoichi Ichimiya. Takagi still runs and wrestles in the company today. They created a world where wrestling could be fun. Not everything needs to be serious all of the time. That does not mean DDT can’t get serious, they’ve had plenty of serious feuds and even have a hardcore championship. What they represent is variety and nothing encapsulates that more than DDT Universe.

What You Get
For ¥888 ($7.85) per month you get access to DDT as well as their partners: DNA (DDT’s version of NXT), BASARA (Hardcore wrestling), TJPW (Women’s wrestling), Ganbare Pro (Super indie), Boyz (Comedy indie), YaroZ (Comedy indie), Union (Hardcore wrestling) and Muscle (DNA before DNA).

DDT Universe is a wild and wacky variety show of wrestling. They fulfil the needs of every type of wrestling fan that exists. If you don’t like the style of the match, just wait because the next one is sure to be different. You’re always in for something unexpected when watching DDT.

Robert McCauley hasn't missed an NJPW show since the launch of NJPW World. Always be on the look out for his reviews where he shares results and gives his honest opinions on the goings-on of New Japan Pro-Wrestling.
