Shinsuke Nakamura will get another crack at the WWE Championship next month in Detroit at the company’s annual Hell in a Cell pay-per-view event.
Nakamura defeated 13-time World Champion Randy Orton in tonight’s SmackDown Live main event to earn his title shot against Jinder Mahal, who watched the proceedings from his SkyBox alongside The Singh Brothers tonight in Sioux Falls.
Nakamura fell short in his first bid for the title against Mahal last month at SummerSlam. Mahal successfully retained his Championship with a little help from the Singh’s, who were able to provide the distraction long enough for The Modern Day Maharaja to deliver a vicious Khallas to Nakamura for the pinfall.
Hell in a Cell is set to take place on October 8th and will be the first WWE event to be hosted inside of Detroit’s soon to be opened Little Caesars Arena.
