Impact Wrestling ‘Victory Road’ Recap



The show starts off with a couple of pre-tapes of Johnny Impact walking into the building and of Eli Drake backstage talking on the phone.

Match #1: Trevor Lee (c) defeats Petey Williams to retain the X-Division title
This was a short match. Petey Williams made his Impact return a little over a month ago and had one thing on his mind, winning the X-Division title one more time. With a distraction from Caleb Konley, Williams came up short after Lee hits a Double Foot Stomp to retain the title.

Next up, a pre-tape is shown of LAX prepping for their defense against OVE.

Match #2: Sienna, Taya Valkyrie, and Taryn Terrell defeats Rosemary, Allie, and Gail Kim
A pretty good match here. Allie had Taryn set up for the Slice Bread #2, but Sienna breaks it up by pushing Allie into the turnbuckle and rolls her up for the win.

Next, Eli Drake is backstage talking about his match tonight against Johnny Impact followed up by a pre-tape of Joseph Park treating Grado to a feast and presents him his first royalty check.

Next, McKenzie Mitchell is backstage with Johnny Impact to talk about his match tonight with Eli Drake. After that, James Storm comes out and calls out team AAA. Texano comes out and they start to brawl in the ring. Storm gets the upper hand until Fantasma hits the ring to help Texano take down the cowboy. Taxano is about to bash a beer bottle over storms head when EC3 comes out to make the save.

We then see Storm and EC3 in Cornette’s office demanding a match with Texano and Fantasma for next week. Episode 3 of Global Forged is then shown highlighting the 3 wrestlers who were selected to for the Global Forged Finals.

Match #3: OVE defeats LAX (c) to win the GFW Tag Team Titles
This was a really good match. OVE have been making a huge impact since debuting last month. They Earned their shot at the champs and capitalized on their opportunity after Dave Crist hits the Square and Compass DDT on Ortiz to pick up the victory.

Between matches, a pre-tape is shown of Lashley training with American Top Team telling the world that he’s staying in MMA.

Match #4: Eli Drake (c) defeats Johnny Impact to retain the GFW Global Championship
This was a great main event. Drake and Impact are 2 of the very best in the world today and delivered a great match tonight. Impact got a couple of near falls on Drake, but with help from Chris Adonis, Eli Drake got the victory after hitting Impact with The Gravy Train.

After the match, Adonis and Drake attacked Impact and Garza Jr ran down for the save. LAX came out from the crowd and attacked Garza Jr. Everyone brawled outside the ring as Cornette and Impact officials come down to beak things up. Drake and Adonis stand tall in the ring to close the show.

Brandon is a life long wrestling fan and a die hard hardcore kid. Pro wrestling and hardcore music helped him find acceptance and gave him a place to be himself at. It's what has made him the passionate fan and person he his today.
