Intercontinental Championship changes hands in Grand Rapids

After answering Seth Rollins’ Intercontinental Championship open challenge on tonight’s episode of RAW out of the Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, Michigan — Dolph Ziggler was able to wrestle away the title as his current tag partner Drew McIntyre watched from ringside.

After what was another great showing from Rollins, Ziggler was able to reverse an initial roll up by his opponent into one of his own where he’d grab a handful of tights to earn the pinfall. This came shortly after a distraction from McIntyre on the apron.

Rollins’ first reign as IC champ ends at 72 days. Ziggler became a 6-time Intercontinental Champion tonight tying Rob Van Dam and JefF Jarrett with the 3rd most reigns in history behind The Miz (8) and Chris Jericho (9).
