James Ellsworth has been released by WWE

WWE has officially parted ways with James Ellsworth. The company made the following trademark ‘short and sweet’ employee release announcement via their webpage moments ago:

“WWE has come to terms on the release of WWE Superstar James Ellsworth. WWE wishes Ellsworth the best in all of his future endeavors.”

Ellsworth gained immediate popularity after making his in-ring debut on RAW as an “enhancement talent” against Braun Strowman last Summer.

He would become the subject of many memes and hashtags following the match on social media and message boards for an extended period, which would trigger WWE to bring him back and even put him in a main event program with AJ Styles and Dean Ambrose involving the WWE Championship. He’d later go on to work as a valet for Carmella for the rest of his run with the company. Carmella would sever ties with Ellsworth on last week’s episode of Smackdown.

Ellsworth will forever be remembered by WWE fans for his three victories over AJ Styles, all of them due to interference and tomfoolery and being the first person to claim a briefcase in a Women’s Money in the Bank ladder match. He’ll also be memorialized for the following inspirational quote that endeared him to millions.

“Any man with two hands has a fighting chance.” – James Ellsworth
