Joey Janela captures WWN Championship in Evolve debut

Joey Janela getting a shot at the WWN Championship in his Evolve debut is one thing. Joey Janela winning the WWN Championship in his Evolve debut, well, that’s a something completely different.

Pro wrestling’s resident “Bad Boy” — accompanied by “Bad Girl” Penelope Ford — made a major splash tonight at Evolve 106 in Brooklyn by defeating Austin Theory to claim WWN’s top prize.

The match included all of the theatrics you’d expect with top notch entrances from Janela and Ford followed by Theory and his valet, Priscilla Kelly, who have really grown to become a power tandem in the world of professional wrestling since joining forces.

After multiple near falls (Janela kicked out of Theory’s finisher twice) and distractions from Ford and Kelly, Janela gained pinfall after hitting an avalanche brainbuster.

Welcome to the Joey Janela era.

What does this mean for AR Fox’s WWN Title shot that was scheduled for August 12th in Detroit against Austin Theory? Stay tuned and find out.

Theory is scheduled to defend his FIP Heavyweight Championship against DJZ tomorrow at Evolve 107 in Melrose, MA.
