Mickie James to challenge for RAW Women’s Title at WWE TLC

For the first time since her return to the WWE main roster, Mickie James has earned herself a title shot in a singles match.

It was confirmed during tonight’s RAW broadcast by GM Kurt Angle that James will face Alexa Bliss for the RAW Women’s title at the upcoming TLC pay-per-view on October 22nd.

It appeared that James was going to pull off the upset victory over Nia Jax earlier tonight after hitting a tornado DDT off the second rope. The match would end with some Bliss interference and James being awarded the DQ victory.

Bliss left multiple gifts in James’ locker room before the match including a box of Depends and a walker, in an effort to continue the “Mickie James is old” storyline that was put into place last week. At 38-years-young, James leads the active women’s roster with 6 world titles to her credit.

WWE TLC will also provide us with the highly anticipated main roster debut of Asuka. James faced Asuka for the NXT Women’s title last November in Toronto in her first match on WWE programming since 2010.
