NJPW ‘Super Jr. Tag League 2019’ (10.21.19) Results & Review

Only one tournament match on the fourth night of the 2019 Super Junior Tag League. Roppongi 3K are looking to keep pace with the teams on top as they face off against TJP and Clark Connors. Let’s get started!

Roppongi 3K (2-1) def. TJP & Clark Connors (0-3) @ 13:31 via YOH Stargazer on Connors – **1/2
Connors got to play to his strengths early by having a grapple exchanged with SHO. TJP had the flash of the match with both a springboard forearm and dropkick. He had Connors hold YOH up so he could come off the top with a neckbreaker that Connors rolled into a jackknife for a nearfall. I enjoyed seeing 3K play the bully for a change and I think they did well in the role.

The nitpicks came in the closing stretch when YOH threw a tantrum for not being able to beat a young lion which isn’t a good look. He then beat Connors with the Stargazer out of nowhere despite there not being any leg work in the match. While solid and building toward something worth seeing, the match had a disjointed finish left a lot to be desired.
