NJPW ‘World Tag League 2017 Night 3’ 11.20.17 Results & Review

Hard camera only for the third night of the World Tag League. New Japan edited the show, only providing us with the tournament matches.

Yujiro Takahashi & Hangman Page def. Yuji Nagata & Manabu Nakanishi @ 10:46
This isn’t a match that would standout on paper as a must see match and for good reason. At this stage in his career it’s hard to watch Nakanishi wrestle and not feel the pain that he must feel. Nagata is creeping up on that territory as well but is still a much more spirited wrestler. Yujiro and Page are both just bodies; neither are really anything more than competent. Team Bullet Club scored the win with a Pimp Juice delivered by Yujiro to Nakanishi. This really serves as nothing more than a match that’s just there.

Bad Luck Fale & Chase Owens def. Tencozy @ 11:43
Clean sweep for Bullet Club on this night of the tournament. This was better than the previous match but the same dynamic, veteran baby faces taking on foreign heels. Fale and Owens are a more interesting team to watch than Yujiro and Page because both have their characters carved out. That’s not to say either light the world on fire here but they’re an upgrade nonetheless. Tencozy will always and forever be crowd favorites. They’re not much better at this stage than their counterparts, Nagata and Nakanishi, but being a classic, established team helps their reputation when their music hits. Like the previous match this wasn’t anything special to seek out.

Neither match is something I’d recommend you spending time watching. You can find better things to do with your day.
