NXT Power Rankings: February 2018

RankSuperstar/TeamPrevious RankChangeRecent & Outlook
1Andrade Almas
NXT Champion
New-Almas is fresh off successfully defending his title against Johnny Gargano is what was arguably one of the best matches to occur in a WWE ring. It would be criminal for him to debut at any less than #1. A rematch against Gargano is looming as well as Aleister Black further down the road if he survives that.
2Ember Moon
NXT Women’s Champion
New-Ember Moon defended her title against Shayna Baszler in what could be called an upset. A rematch is going to be coming soon with Baszler. Moon also could have Nikki Cross and Kairi Sane in her future.
3Aleister BlackNew-Aleister Black has been on a tear since his debut in NXT. After taking his first pinfall loss in a Fatal 4-Way, he got his revenge on Adam Cole at TakeOver. Black seems destined to challenge the NXT Champion at TakeOver New Orleans, but he may have a slight detour before that happens.
4Kyle O’Reilly & Bobby Fish
NXT Tag Team Champions
New-O’Reilly & Fish became one of the select few to score a pinfall victory over the Authors of Pain. The former reDRagon is a polished team and there doesn’t seem to be a realistic challenge to their reign. Up next for the champions, a showdown with SAnitY appears likely.
5Velveteen DreamNew-Velveteen Dream is the total package. He’s got a great gimmick and crazy athleticism. His TakeOver victory over Kassius Ohno was a little rough around the edges, but I think he gets much better in 2018.
6Johnny GarganoNew-Gargano is coming off a loss to Andrade Almas at TakeOver, but they both put on an elite-level match. Gargano is going to have a second chance at Almas soon and, of course, the ultimate showdown with Tommaso Ciampa is looming.
7Shayna BaszlerNew-Baszler put on a respectable performance in her upset loss to Ember Moon at TakeOver. Her character development moving forward will be extremely important as she needs to retain that credibility as a former MMA fighter and bully. A rematch with Moon seems to be likely.
8Nikki CrossNew-Nikki Cross is in a sort of holding pattern currently. She’s waiting for her eventual shot at the champion, but also picking up wins in the meantime and not doing anything terribly wrong.
9Authors of PainNew-The Authors of Pain lost again at TakeOver to the Tag Team Champions. That said, they’re still a dominant and nearly unstoppable tag team. I believe they are headed to the main roster sooner rather than later, but until then, they’re still in the Top 10.
10Adam ColeNew-The leader of the Undisputed Era continues to rack up losses to Aleister Black, but he is still somehow a threat. I’m not sure what’s next for him, but I don’t think we’ve seen the last of him at the top of the card.
