NXT Power Rankings: March 2018

RankSuperstar/TeamPrevious RankChangeRecent & Outlook
1Andrade Almas
NXT Champion
1-Since last month, Andrade Almas successfully defended the NXT Championship against Johnny Gargano and ended his NXT career. That's a decent month. Now he will wait to see whether Killian Dain or Aleister Black will be the next challenger to this throne.
2Aleister Black3Aleister Black hasn't been in action since the last rankings, but he's clearly being positioned as the #1 contender to Andrade Almas. Black moves up a spot mainly due to Ember Moon's previous month.
3Ember Moon
NXT Women’s Champion
2Ember Moon is still the NXT Women's Champion, but a DQ loss to Shayna Baszler when she seemed on the way to losing the title drops her from the #2 spot. Round 3 with Baszler seems to be likely for TakeOver New Orleans.
4Velveteen Dream5The Dream picked up pretty dominating wins over No Way Jose and Tyler Bate in recent weeks. Judging by his recent social media post going after 'indie guys', I'm thinking his next big opponent could be a debuting Ricochet in New Orleans?
5Shayna Baszler7Shayna Baszler seemed well on her way to defeating Ember Moon for the NXT Women's Championship in their rematch until Kairi Sane caused a DQ finish. Baszler then defeated Sane a few weeks later. She seems to be in position to challenge Moon one more time in New Orleans.
6Kyle O’Reilly & Bobby Fish
NXT Tag Team Champions
4O'Reilly & Fish had a rough month. Their only in-ring televised match was a defeat against SAnitY in a 6-man tornado tag match. Expect to see a blow off tag title match against Eric Young & Alexander Wolfe before TakeOver (Since the Dusty Tag Classic winner gets the champs at that point and I don't think SAnitY wins that).
7Killian DainUnrankedKillian Dane continues to be presented as the unstoppable monster of SAnitY. He's booked to look very strong and was key to SAnitY's upset win over Undisputed Era. He's also gotten the better of Aleister Black leading up to their eventual #1 Contender's match. That's why he rocketed to #7 from being unranked previously. Will he win that match? No, but WWE clearly has plans for him.
8Nikki Cross8-This is what I said last month and it is still accurate: "Nikki Cross is in a sort of holding pattern currently. She’s waiting for her eventual shot at the champion, but also picking up wins in the meantime and not doing anything terribly wrong."
9TM-61UnrankedTM-61 made their return after a Shane Thorne injury and picked up a few squash wins. TM-61 appears to be the favorite to win the Dusty Rhodes Classic, in my opinion, which means we could see an Undisputed Era versus TM61 tag title match at TakeOver that has the potential to be very, very good.
10Adam Cole10-Adam Cole continued to pick up televised losses when Undisputed Era lost to SAnitY. On the last day of February, Cole finally got a decent win over Cezar Bononi that did more for the Undisputed Era as a group versus him personally, but it was enough to stop him from dropping out of the rankings.
