Braun Strowman laid out Brock Lesnar with back-to-back running powerslams. WWE announced that Lesnar will defend the Universal Title against Strowman at No Mercy. John Cena returned to Raw and teased a program with Roman Reigns. Cena was also confronted by Samoa Joe.

Braun Strowman lays out the WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar
Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman came out to a pretty big reaction. Heyman put over his client and said despite WWE’s conspiracy, Lesnar still retained the Universal Title at SummerSlam. Heyman went on to say “If there’s any conquering to be done WWE or UFC, the conquering will be done by Brock Lesnar.” Strowman came out and as the crowd chanted for him. Lesnar avoided a choke slam but ran into a big boot. Strowman then delivered two running powerslams and posed with the Universal Title.
- This was a good opening segment and the right director for Lesnar’s next challenger for the Universal Title.
Enzo Amore def. Big Cass in a Brooklyn Street Fight
Enzo Amore cut a promo before the match. Cass took control of Amore throughout the match. Biggest spot of the match was Cass going a big boot but Amore pulled the rope down and Cass’s right leg landed in a bad position. Cass delivered a powerslam and went for the Empire Elbow but he collapsed on the mat as the referee called for the bell.
Backstage: Dana Brooke and Emma
Emma complained to Dana Brooke about the lack of opportunity she has received and then ran down her opponent Nia Jax. Jax appeared and said the follow “After our match tonight,” Jax said, “the trend on Twitter is going to be, ‘Give Emma CPR.”
Nia Jax def. Emma
This was a squash match as Jax won after delivering a Samoan Drop.
Elias def. R-Truth
Elias was in the ring and said that he looked directly into the solar eclipse and it made everything crystal clear. This was another short match as Elias won after delivering a swinging neck break his finisher called (Drift Away)
WWE Intercontinental Champion The Miz & Samoa Joe confront John Cena & Roman Reigns
Kurt Angle came out and introduced the 16x WWE World Champion John Cena who received a massive reaction. Cena said he’s here on Raw to be face-to-face with a certain WWE superstar. Reigns came out and went back-and-forth on the mic and teased a program with Cena. Cena and Reigns were interrupted by The Miz and The Miztourage. Miz cut an awesome promo on both Reigns and Cena. Cena offered a tag team match with Reigns against Miz and a partner.
Joe came out and said he was going to be Miz partner tonight because he’s sick of Reigns. Joe then cut a promo on Cena. This led to a brawl as Reigns took out Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel. Cena went for an AA but Joe countered and applied the Coquina Clutch. Reigns made the save by delivering a Superman punch to Joe. The segment ended with the crowd chanting “You both suck” at Cena and Reigns.
- This was a good segment as WWE teased programs with Cena against both Joe and Reigns for sometime down the road.
Gran Metalik, Rich Swann, Cedric Alexander & Mustafa Ali def. Drew Gulak, Noam Dar, Tony Nese & Ariya Davari.
Highlight of the match was Gran Metalik delivering a springboard moonsault to Drew Gulak and Ariya Daivari. Cedrick Alexander won after delivering the lumbar check to Tony Nese.
Backstage: Charly Caruso interviewed Neville
Neville was doing an interview but were interrupted by Akira Tozawa and Titus O’Neil. Tozawa yelled “rematch” So Neville will defend the WWE Cruiserweight Title against Tozawa tomorrow on 205 Live.
Backstage: Jason Jordan and Kurt Angle
Jordan said he didn’t want any special treatment from his “father” Angle said that Miz already has a match tonight. Jordan said he wanted to face Finn Balor so Angle made the match.
In-Ring: Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins
Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins came out and said they will face any tag team. The Hardys came out as Matt teased his “Broken” gimmick through the promo. Matt offered a match, Rollins said he and Ambrose idolized the Hardys and agreed to the match.
Raw Tag Team Champions: Dean Ambrose & Seth Rollins def. The Hardys — Non-Title Match
Highlights included Jeff delivering a Poetry in Motion to both Ambrose and Rollins to the floor. Another highlight included Rollins delivering a sling blade and Ambrose simultaneously slamming Matt to the matt. Ambrose and Rollins also delivered a dual suicide dives to the Hardys. Rollins delivered his Rainmaker knee strike and Ambrose followed up by delivering the Dirty Deeds to Jeff. Rollins pined Jeff and got the win.
- Really good tag team match as both teams worked hard.
Backstage: The Miz, Maryse, Miztourage & Samoa Joe
The Miz tried to hype up Joe before the match. Joe told the Miz to shut up and instructed Axel and Dallas to remain on the floor for the match.
Alexa Bliss confronted Raw Women’s Champion Sasha Banks
Raw Women’s Champion, Sasha Banks came out and said she broke the Brooklyn Curse. Alexa Bliss came out and said Banks never defended the title despite holding the title on four different occasions. Banks offered to settle the beef right now. Bliss said she will invoke her rematch clause next week.
Finn Balor def. Jason Jordan
The fans were tossing around a beach ball during the match. Balor went for the sling blade early on but Jordan countered by delivering an overhead belly-to-belly suplex. Jordan pulled his singlet down and delivered a running shoulder tackle to Balor. Jordan went for his heist neckbreaker but Balor countered with a cross body. Finish came with Balor delivering a sling blade, running dropkick and the Coup de Grace for the win.
- A fine match. Interested to see what program Balor gets placed in next.
John Cena and Roman Reigns def. The Miz & Samoa Joe
The fans in Brooklyn wanted to have some fun so they tossed around a beach ball and did the wave during the match. Highlight in the match was Joe who wasn’t the legal man but still applied the Coquina Clutch to Cena. Reigns accidentally delivered a Superman punch to Cena. Finish came with Miz setting up for the Skull Crushing Finale but Cena countered by delivering the Attitude Adjustment and got the win. Reigns said “my bad” to Cena after the match.
It was a good episode of Raw as we now know the main event for No Mercy. Interested to see who Cena will face at the Raw pay-per-view.
