Former WWE Cruiserweight Champion Rich Swann was suspended indefinitely by WWE following a domestic violence incident in Florida that took place last night.

Swann was arrested by Gainesville Police for “Simple Battery” and “False Imprisonment” of his wife after leaving a show she had worked at a venue named Eight Seconds. Swann’s wife is independent wrestler Su Yung.

According to the police report, Swann was reportedly getting angry with the victim, his wife, because of her performance at the aforementioned show. The report states that his wife then jumped out of the moving car being driven by Swann to get away from him out of fear of potential physical harm due to his temper.

One of the two witnesses on the scene saw Swann place his wife in a headlock and drag her back into the vehicle as she screamed for help. Another witness saw Swann get out of the car as it was still moving to chase his wife in an attempt to drag her back to the moving car. The car would then roll into a telephone pole, according to the eyewitness.

Swann told authorities that he simply needed her back in the car because he didn’t know how to get home and she had the phone with the GPS.

Swann is no longer in police custody according to ProWrestlingSheet

WWE released the following statement on the matter after learning about the incident:

WWE has zero tolerance for matters involving domestic violence, and per our policy, Rich Swann has been suspended indefinitely following his arrest.
