SD Live Highlights (3.20.18): Daniel Bryan Returns

Tonight’s episode of SmackDown Live out of the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas was all about Daniel Bryan and the news of the former 4-time World Champion being cleared for in-ring competition. Before the show was over, his WrestleMania 34 match has all but been confirmed.

Also on tonight’s episode, Carmella reminded us that she’s always just a cash-in away, the US title picture got a bit more heated, more competitors were confirmed for both WrestleMania Battle Royals and Nakamura reminded Styles that he does not need his help. Let’s take a look at the video highlights.

We hung on every single word delivered by Bryan in this promo. There has never been a more sincere babyface in the history of this game. Daniel Bryan is back. It’s still so surreal to type those words.

Rusev and Aiden English attack Nakamura after Rusev is beaten clean by the #1 contender for AJ Styles’ WWE Championship. Styles watches it all go down ringside as Nakamura proves that his is more than capable of handling both men by himself.

Tye Dillinger and WrestleMania 32 Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal winner Baron Corbin go head-to-head. We learn that both men will enter this year’s Battle Royal. Last year’s winner, Mojo Rawley, has also been announced as a confirmed entrant. RAW’s Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder, known collectively as The Revival, announced their intentions to become the first tag team to win the Battle Royal last night.

Another fantastic match here between your SmackDown Women’s Champion, Charlotte Flair, and Natalya. Did Carmella cash-in her Money in the Bank contract? Watch the highlight to find out.

Ruby Riott, Sarah Logan and Liv Morgan will compete in the first ever Women’s WrestleMania Battle Royal.

Jimmy Uso takes on Luke Harper in singles competition as his brother Jey remains on the mend from that Fastlane bludgeoning.

With a triple-threat US Championship match at WrestleMania 34 now confirmed that will see US Champion Randy Orton defend against Bobby Roode and Jinder Mahal — the three men come face-to-face on SmackDown Live.

Becky Lynch and Naomi take on Riott Squad members Liv Morgan and Sarah Logan in tag team action.

With Shane McMahon currently recuperating from the injures he suffered by the hands of Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn last week, Daniel Bryan’s hand has been forced. Bryan decides to fire Owens and Zayn for their actions, thus quickly suffering the consequences of his own decision. The show closes with an emotional beatdown that would send the medically cleared Bryan to the back on a stretcher.
