The IIconics debut; Carmella cashes in MITB contract

The first (and only) main roster debut on tonight’s post WrestleMania edition of SmackDown Live came in the form of Peyton Royce and Billie Kay — now known collectively as The Iconics instead of The Iconic Duo.

Royce and Kay interrupted SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair as she thanked Asuka for sharing in the magic they made at WrestleMania 34. Flair then asked who she’d make magic with next. Enter The Iconics.

Kay and Royce’s incomparable chemistry was on full display during this segment as they showed incredible microphone prowess. Flair threw the first strike after having enough of the Aussies banter but it would be The Iconics who would have the last laugh. Kay and Royce made quite the first impression here, obliterating Charlotte inside and out and out of the ring. Flair was all dead weight as they carried in her back into the ring to stand over her lifeless body in the center.

Kay and Royce would then pose before exiting the ring to head to the back. As they reached the top of the rampway, Carmella’s music hit.

Ms. Money in the Bank couldn’t have picked a better time to finally cash in her contract but the referee wasn’t exactly read to to play ball. As Carmella screamed bloody murder, the referee played dumb before finally starting the match. The bell would ring and Carmella caught Flair right in the kisser with a superkick. She gets the pin and a new SmackDown Women’s Champion is crowned.

Just two days after ending the streak of the most dominant female competitor in WWE history, Charlotte loses her title to Carmella in one of the most exciting segments of WrestleMania weekend.
