Less than an hour after The Shield reunited on Monday Night RAW, GM Kurt Angle announced their return match.
The Shield will face the team of The Miz and former 2-time RAW Tag Team Champions Sheamus and Cesaro in the main event of October 22nd’s TLC PPV in Minneapolis.
The Shield made their WWE debut inside of The Bankers Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana back on November 18th 2012 at Survivor Series, the site of the three most important moments in the history of the beloved faction. This was the night where they would help CM Punk retain the WWE Championship in the main event against Ryback and John Cena.
On the June 2nd 2014 episode of RAW, Seth Rollins, the architect of the group, would single-handedly disband the group causing them to disband. This would go down as one of the most significant betrayals in WWE history.
Tonight, The Shield officially returned as one much to the delight of the WWE Universe and the chagrin of The Miz, Sheamus and Cesaro. And they seem to be having the time of their lives. On October 22nd, they’ll get back to business in a Tables, Ladders and Chairs match against The Miz, Sheamus and Cesaro for their first match as a unit since they beat Evolution back at Payback on June 1st of 2014.
UPDATE: Braun Strowman will join the team of The Miz, Sheamus and Cesaro making this TLC main event a 4-on-3 handicap match.
