WrestleMania 35 quick picks

The Greatest Spectacle in Sports Entertainment part thirty-five goes down today in East Rutherford, New Jersey and this 16 match (it may end up being more) offering could very well end up being the feel good show of the decade. Whether or not Vince McMahon sees it that way remains to be seen.

Here’s my Mania 35 picks, in quick and dirty fashion, full of speculation, not so educated guesses, tomfoolery and hot takes for the main card portion of the program. You can find my pre-show piece here.

Main Card (7 p.m. ET)

AJ Styles vs. Randy Orton

A big win for Orton here in what really should be the show opener to get the crowd rolling. Expect a massive RKO spot to close the deal

Winner: Randy Orton

Shane McMahon vs. The Miz (Falls Count Anywhere)

Shane McMahon never has a bad match on the big stage and The Miz his best work these days. When the curtain closes, this match ends up in the top five of the night. The Miz wins it for his “Baked Potato Face” father.

Winner: The Miz

Samoa Joe (c) vs. Rey Mysterio (WWE United States Championship)

Will Rey be able to go after an ankle injury suffered this week on RAW? If not, you could definitely insert John Cena in here. Regardless, I expect Joe to come away with the strap.

Winner: Samoa Joe

Boss ‘n’ Hug Connection (c) vs. The IIconics vs. Beth Phoenix & Natalya vs. Nia Jax & Tamina (WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship)

This one is simple. Lots of great spots here (Beth will look amazing because she still is) but in the end — Boss ‘n’ Hug retain.

Winners: Boss ‘n’ Hug Connection

Bobby Lashley (c) vs. Finn Balor (WWE Intercontinental Championship)

The Demon isn’t going to lose here. 2nd most likely match to be a squash.

Winner: Demon Balor

Kurt Angle vs. Baron Corbin

First most likely match to be a squash. #ThankYouKurt

Winner: Kurt Angle

The Usos (c) vs. The Bar vs. Ricochet & Aleister Black vs Shinsuke Nakamura & Rusev (WWE Smackdown Tag Team Championship)

On the strength of a new deal, The Usos get the victory here to retain after a hard fought affair.

Winners: The Usos

Roman Reigns vs. Drew McIntyre

Roman finally gets his babyface WrestleMania moment.

Winner: Roman Reigns

Daniel Bryan (c) vs. Kofi Kingston (WWE Championship)

There’s a ton of possible options here.

1. Do you have Kofi win clean even though it’s not closing out the show?
2. If Big E does turn, is it on Kofi as champion? It damn well should be. Just imagine those two in a singles feud for the WWE Championship from now until SummerSlam.
3. Do you have Harper and Wyatt return to join Bryan and Rowan?

Regardless, I’m taking Kofi to get it done at the end of the day. I just hope they take advantage of the situation and keep KofiMania going beyond April 7th.

Winner: Kofi Kingston

Triple H vs. Batista

The “career is over” stip makes me think Triple H takes this.

Winner: Triple H

Brock Lesnar (c) w/ Paul Heyman vs. Seth Rollins (WWE Universal Championship)

Could Kofi, Becky and Seth all win on the same show. Something has to give, right? Rollins gets the victory because he’s not afraid to play dirty to win. Also, don’t be surprised if Reigns and Ambrose appear to give us one final moment for The Shield.

Winner: Seth Rollins

Ronda Rousey (RAW Champion) vs. Charlotte Flair (SD Champion) vs. Becky Lynch (Winner Takes All Championship Main Event)

That thing I said about Kofi, Seth and Becky not all being able to win on the same card, well, I’m dubbing this as the “feel good” WrestleMania, so it can be done.

Winner: Becky Lynch taps out Ronda Rousey
