WWE has announced the release of Emma, Darren Young and Summer Rae website today. This news comes just days after the company announced their Q3 2017 financials. Here’s the official statement via WWE.com.
WWE has come to terms on the releases of WWE Superstars Emma, Darren Young and Summer Rae.
WWE wishes them the best in all of their future endeavors.
With Darren Young and Summer Rae having been off TV for quite some time (Young hadn’t wrestled on RAW since last December, Rae wrestled last August) the only real surprise here is the release of Emma.
Emma had wrestled on the last two RAW exclusive PPV events (No Mercy & TLC) which were her first PPV appearances in almost 3 years. Her last match with the promotion was this past Monday on RAW in a rematch against Asuka.
Emma was released, albeit briefly, back in 2014 after it was revealed that she had been arrested for shoplifting, WWE would re-sign immediately after announcing her release.
At this time, it’s currently not clear whether or not this was a mutual decision between both parties or if this was Emma wanting to move on to the next chapter of her career. Judging by the following post, it doesn’t appear that Emma saw this one coming.
