Match #1: Trish Stratus & Lita defeat Mickie James & Alicia Fox w/ Alexa Bliss

The first match of the night will be a tag team match pitting WWE Hall of Famers Trish Stratus and Lita against Alicia Fox and Mickie James. Alexa Bliss will accompany the latter two. Trish is out first to a nice welcome. Lita is out next. Take Trish’s ovation and multiply it by about three.

Alexa is out next in a Alice in Wonderland Ice Queen type get up. She has a mic in hand and she’s ready to grill Trish and Lita. She asks them to turn their hearing aids all the way up before introducing Mickie and Alicia. No one is better dressed than Alicia. The whole team has a Alice vibe too them, Alicia wins the outfit of the night with her Mad Hatter ensemble.

Lita gets some early offense on Mickie who is forced to tag in Fox. Fox isn’t interested in entering the match so Lita flips her over the top rope and continues to pour it on. Lita and Trish pay homage to the Hardy’s with some fancy teamwork.

The crowd is very educated on the Trish and Mickie history between them. They ham it up with a long face off but Trish draws first blood. Some highlights include a top rope rana from Trish onto Mickie. Took a bit to set it up but kudos to her regardless. Lita looking for the Litasault but Alexa pulls her off the top rope. This turns the tide. Reverse DDT on Fox gets Lita to make the hot tag to Trish. Stratusfaction on James nearly closes the deal bot Fox interferes. Lita takes Fox out with a Twist of Fate. Litasault on Fox takes her out of the equation. Trish with a Chick Kick closes the deal.

Next up is a backstage segment with The Bella Twins on the red carpet. Nikki says she’s dedicating her match to Ronda Rousey’s mother. She says she deserves so much better after having to deal with the adversity of having Ronda as a daughter. She’s ready to welcome her as a member of the Bella Army. She’s a “Do Something Bella,” and the only thing ending tonight is Ronda’s title reign.

Match #2: Nia Jax wins the Historic Women’s Battle Royal

Lillian Garcia that whomever wins will earn themselves a future women’s championship match. Naomi is out first. Michelle McCool is out next followed by Sonya Deville who is followed by Alundra Blayze. Carmella is out next. Zelina Vega, Kelly Kelly, Tamina, Ember Moon, Lana, Maria Kanellis, Mandy Rose, Molly Holly, Dana Brooke, Nia Jax and Ivory all come out in that order before Asuka and Torrie Wilson make the final two solo entrances of the group. Peyton Royce and Billie Kay come out as a group with microphones to get some Long Island heat and rip on the legends of the group.

And, Peyton and Billie are the first ones out after being thrown over the top rope by all of the retired superstars. This sets up a past versus present stand-off. All hell breaks loose.

Match #3: Mae Young Classic Final – Toni Storm defeats Io Shirai

Io Shirai went for a moonsault but Storm got her knees up and hit the Strong Zero to secure the victory and become the 2nd annual Mae Young Classic victor. This ran just over 10 minutes. While it was a bit short, it put a nice bow on what was another great year for the MYC.

Match #4: Bayley, Sasha Banks & Natalya defeat The Riott Squad

First off, get a look at these costumes from The Riott Squad.

Incredible match. We’ve seen these girls go at it multiple times on TV but without commercial breaks and with the importance this event it just felt different. All six girls left it all in the ring here. The finishing sequence saw Nattie hit a powerbomb on Liv Morgan followed by a Flying Elbow Drop from Bayley and a Frog Splash on Sasha to get the pinfall. Somewhere, Eddie is smiling.

Match #5: Shayna Baszler defeats Kairi Sane (c) – NXT Women’s Championship

Immediate championship feel here with the lights dimmed for the match. While booking has to be creative in this day in age, this is your classic white meat babyface versus devious heel match up. Sometimes it just works and Shayna and Kairi are both masters at playing their respective roles. They were born for this. This has been a great feud on NXT programming so it’s nice to see it continue (will it end here?) on a WWE PPV.

Shayna worked over Kairi’s left arm for most of the match. Before the finish, Kairi hit a beautiful Crossbody to the outside on Shayna after she rolled out of the ring to avoid the Insane Elbow. Everything broke down on the outside after Jessamyn Duke interfered from the crowed but was hit by a spinning back first from Sane. Marina Shafir got involved after that but Kairi took care of her as well. This set up an opening for Baszler to lock in a submission but Kairi was able to escape. More interference from Duke and this time Baszler got Kairi to the center of the ring to lock in the Kirifuda Clutch and get the technical submission finish. Shayna Baszler is the first ever two-time NXT Women’s Champion with a little help from her friends.

Match #6: Becky Lynch (c) defeats Charlotte Flair (Smackdown Women’s Championship – Last Woman Standing)

The crowd is super hot for Becky as expected. She may be the best thing going in WWE Right now. They boo in chorus for Charlotte.

We are playing the knockdown game early here. Charlotte knocks down Becky early and hits a nice Flair strut. Becky is quick to get up. Becky mocks the Flair strut after hitting some high powered offense. Great back in forth action to get things going. The crowd is super into this match and this feud.

Kendo sticks, tables, ladders and chairs were all in play in what was an absolutely brutal match between these two bitter rivals. Charlotte forced Becky to tap with a Figure Eight through a ladder that was broken by Becky smashing Charlotte with a chair to the knee in an absolutely incredible moment. The tap meant nothing since this was a Last Woman Standing match.

The match entered the crowd after Becky decided to walk off with the title. Becky also hit a killer spot on Charlotte with a leg drop off the top of a ladder onto a table.

Charlotte replied by getting up at the count of 9 with a “that’s all you got,” to the champ. This sent Becky into a frenzy, making her bury chairs and tables onto Charlotte. This wasn’t enough to put Charlotte away. Charlotte hit her with some kendo stick shots followed by a spear that cut her in half then proceeded to set up a table. Becky rises to slam Charlotte with a massive power bomb through the table off the second rope. That’s a wrap. Charlotte struggles to get up, she simply can’t do it. Awesome display from both women.

Match #7: Ronda Rousey (c) defeats Nikki Bella w/ Brie Bella (RAW Women’s Championship)

Ronda kicks things off with a couple of quick and brutal hip tosses. Nikki goes for a lock up but Ronda hits another toss. Nikki changes the narrative with a distraction from Brie. Both girls ram Ronda into the post. Continued interference from Brie on the outside keeps Nikki in charge for a long portion of the match. More vicious post work from the twins. Ronda began a comeback with a double Kata Guruma on both Nikki and Brie.

Ronda is working like a superhero here, just destroying Nikki and Brie, but Nikki is able to hit a monster slam in the center of the ring for a two count. Rack Attack 2.0 on Ronda! Nikki nearly had it. She begs the referee and throws a tantrum. The announce team is standing. This is high drama. Ronda hits a small package bomb off the second rope and turns it into an armbar to score the tap.

The show that Becky and Charlotte put on had to have been incredibly tough to follow and while Ronda and Nikki weren’t able to top it, they certainly put on a match worthy of their main event spot to close out what was a great show. The crowd was into it from start to finish.

The show goes off the air with everyone from the back meeting Ronda at the top of the ramp for a nice group camera shot. We get nice little video package with highlights from the show after its conclusion.
