WWE Mixed Match Challenge WK 6 Report: The Robe Warriors take on Nia and Apollo

The Robe Warriors (SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair and US Champion Bobby Roode) collide with Nia Jax and Apollo of Monday Night RAW in the final first round match of WWE’s Mixed Match Challenge. The winners of this match will go on to the quarter-finals to face off against the team of Rusev and Lana in week 9.

Charities: Charlotte and Bobby will be wrestling for Girl Up while Nia and Apollo will be wrestling for Susan G. Komen.

Quick Recap: From the start, it was clear that Charlotte and Bobby were on the same page while Nia was not impressed with Titus Worldwide joining her and Apollo at ringside. Charlotte teaches Bobby Roode how to do the trademark Flair strut to kick things off which is beyond fun. We also got to reignite an old storyline for a moment when Charlotte and her former protegé, Titus Worldwide statistician Dana Brooke, shared some moments. In the end, it’d be the more cohesive unit of Flair and Roode picking up the victory to move on to the quarter-finals.

Final Sequence: Roode hits a Glorious DDT for the win on Apollo after Charlotte lands a moonsault on Nia.

Post-Match: It was all Woo’s and smiles from The Robe Warriors in their post-match interview with Renee Young after the match. We’d learn from Nia after the match that Titus and Dana not only disrupted the match, they also disrupted their training. Nia even did some statistician work of her own to learn that Titus and Dana were nothing but a couple of zeroes. Nia would take out Titus, with some help from Apollo, Dana with a Samoan Drop, and leave the arena with her music playing over the loudspeakers as she moves her focus to Asuka this coming Sunday night in Vegas. This was some solid work from Nia on the mic here with no awkwardness whatsoever. You could tell that this was all her own.

What’s Next?: Week 1 winners Finn Balor and Sasha Banks take on The Miz and Asuka in the first match of the quarter-finals.
