WWE releases Big Cass

WWE has released Big Cass (William Morrissey) just days after opening Money in the Bank against Daniel Bryan in Chicago.

Here is the official statement from WWE officials that was posted on their website this afternoon:

WWE has come to terms on the release of William Morrissey (Big Cass).

It should be noted that they did not wish Morrissey well on his future endeavors as they typically do when issuing their releases.

It was reported last month that Cass “went into business for himself” when he went off script during a segment that involved him beating up a “midget” dressed like Daniel Bryan.

Cass became a fan favorite during his tag team days with Enzo Amore during their NXT run that began in 2013. Amore was released earlier this year after failing to inform his employer of sexual assault allegations.

We’ll have more on this breaking news as information becomes available to us.
